Chelsea set to sign world class striker.

Finally, Chelsea does something to please manager Antonio Conte.

The Blues have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over the signing of top striker Alvaro Morata and the final paper works have begun.

This deal is not part of the original one that would have seen Eden Hazard move to Real Marid but it appears to be a strictly cash based deal.

Conte is said to be presented very unhappy with the club’s lack of enthusiasm in the transfer window, particularly in their search for a striker to replace problematic Diego Costa and from all indications the club has now given the Italian manager his true number one choice for a striker…the very striker he trained from youth at Juventus.

Indeed, Alvaro Morata was one of the few young players who blossomed to greatness under Conte’s managership at Juventus. Paul Pogba who moved from Juventus to Manchester United for a world record fee of 100 million pounds is another youth raised by Conte.

Real’s asking price for the 24-year-old was in the region of 88 million pounds but it is belived that the Blues beat that fee down considerably.

With this unofficial settlement with Real Madrid, a personal deal will be agreed with the player and then he will undergo a medical before everything gets announced officially.

Jose Mourinho who had his sights set on Morata before settling for Lukaku due to a breakdown of talks between Real Madrid and Manchester United over the transfer of goalkeeper David De Gee to Real Madrid will be furious to hear this news.

Morata is the only player who has ever been considered better than Diego Costa. He wears the number 7 jersey for Spain and he benches Costa in the Spanish national team the season before last.
It is understood that the player will command a wage of around 150,000 a week after tx.

Once again, Russian Billionaire Roman Abrahamnowich has shown his financial muscle by stepping in to resolve the club’s striker problem. For those who do not understand, one of the reasons Chelsea have been slow to get a striker is Diego Costa’s refusal to leave the club unless on his own terms and to his former club who are on transfer ban until January and hence the Brazilian born troublemaker may be at Stanford Bridge until January.

The idea was to sell Costa and buy another striker with the money but the player refused to be sold and jetted off to his homeland of Brazil to attend endless parties. Chelsea could do nothing because Costa is still under contract and with Conte telling him to go, the club breached the contract, not Costa. Chelsea had to be careful of getting sued.

With the purchase of Alvaro Morata, his direct rival in the Spanish national team, it would be interesting to see what Costa does from here.

The purported offer for Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was clearly a front for the Morata deal which has caught AC Milan completely off guard.

Talk about professional negotiators, that Chelsea FC of England.
