latest update on costa

Following Eden Hazard's plea to outcast striker Diego Costa to return to the club, a lot of people at Chelsea now believe the Spain international is considering cutting short off his strike to return to the English Champions.

But there is certainly more to things than meets the eye though. For one thing, Costa is has a 50 million pound suit to worry about as Chelsea have made it crystal clear that they will be suing him to court if he does not return soon.  If this happens, Costa is done because he can't pay and he will never play again if he can't pay.

And then there is the world cup coming up next year. At his age, 28, it is his last chance of featuring at the event.

The Brazilian born Spaniard who netted 24 Premier League goals last season to help the Blues clinch the title, has remained in his homeland of Brazil all summer after being informed by Blues manager, Antonio Conte, that he no longer featured in his plans.

Since, the close of the transfer window and a failed move to Atletico Madrid, Costa has deleted his social media accounts and gone AWOL.

Chelsea fines the talisman heavily every two weeks now while he has failed to return to London but according to the Daily Telegraph, Costa's friends think he is considering a return now.

Costa is now in hot water after his determination to clinch a return to Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window failed to become a reality, leaving his future far from certain.

The Antonie Grizman Connection

The Spanish giants will certainly be back to complete a deal in January when their transfer embargo ban gets lifted and some tabloids are reporting that Chelsea will be looking to do business in return for the Spanish club's French superstar, Antonie Grizman.

Until then, Costa has several months of uncertainty.

Even if Costa returns to London, he would face extensive talks with the club’s hierarchy over his outbursts online and absence while Blues boss, Conte is unlikely to change his stance and give him a chance to revive his career which is already entering its twilight.

Speaking about his decision to freeze out the Spain international, Conte said back in July: ‘I don’t like to talk about players who are not here.

‘But the only thing I can tell you [is that] in January, the Costa situation was very clear, for the club for him and his agent. For me the situation is closed.’
Chelsea, who have taken six points from their three league games so far this season, travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday to take on Leicester City.
